|Winemaker, Ashley Campanella|
Welcome to the Rogue Valley's premier winery. We are located in the heart of southern Oregon .. amid the most ecological and biologically diverse area in the United States. We are home to world-class theatre, fine arts, mountains, lakes, fishing and rafting on the Rogue River and are crowned by a breathtaking national Park - Crater Lake. Southern Oregon is one of the most beautiful places on earth to work and craft our wines and ciders.
We make handcrafted wines and ciders that express the earth of the region and the passion of our winemaker. We work with the finest growers and personally select the vineyards and varietals that fit our EdenVale wine brand. We source pears for our organic pear cider directly from our winery estate - born of an 1850's Donation Land Claim property. Planted in 1885, the original planting is still producing juicy sweet pears that are picked and immediately fresh pressed and then cold fermented to make our award-winning hard pear ciders.
We are that hard to find, passionate winery that is committed first to winemaking. We barrel and bottle age our wines before release, so you know as you open a bottle of EdenVale, you are tasting wines at their best.
Welcome to EdenVale's on-line wine store. We feature a broad selection of wines that reflect the diverse micro-climates of Southern Oregon. Typically, our region is known for big rich and bold red wines, however with three distinct growing areas we have carefully chosen a range of varietals that are world class and reflect the unique diversity of the region.
Wine making Philosophy.....
We strive to make the very best wine from carefully selected vineyards and varietals that are planted and cultivated on land suited to achieve the best expression of the terroir. Our wines are handcrafted with the benefit of modern day science and old world art from the vineyard to the bottle.
..."not just a great wine ... but a memorable wine"
About Eden Valley Orchards.....
Born of an Oregon donation land claim, this land is a destination facility rich in history and grace. Eden Valley Orchards is the birthplace of the Oregon pear industry and a historical leader of innovative agriculture. It is presently taking another leading role in a new regional rebirth of wine making. EdenVale first released their 2001 vintage in 2003 featuring Tempranillo, Syrah, Late Harvest Viognier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and sumptuous red and white table wine blends. In 2017 they released the first regional pear cider with the 2016 vintage of estate-grown pears which included the heritage orchard planted in 1885.
This gracious mansion and picturesque property in the heart of pear country is the "place and story" that anchors the Rogue Valley's agricultural history. It also is the perfect location for elegant, private events.
A region steeped in agricultural history and international acclaim.
The diverse agricultural region of southern Oregon is home to a magnificent setting that supports three grape growing regions who boast a formidable number of wine grapes grown. Without any doubt the region, surrounded by mountain ranges which are some of the most unique biologically diverse and oldest geologic formations on the west coast, is host to ideal conditions for its standing wine production. EdenVale wines are obtained from aristocratic vines, cultivated to perfection by select growers dispersed along the regions finest vineyard sites. Thanks to the exposure and positioning of the vines and to the ideal microclimates, with cold winters and hot and bright summer months, the richness of this “terroir” produces the signature reputation for the Rogue wine producing activity.
The EdenVale Winery facility and visitor center is located on property widely recognized as the birthplace of Oregon’s commercial pear industry at Eden Valley Orchards which began in 1885 by Joseph H. Stewart. Amidst this significant historic setting surrounded by pear orchards, the EdenVale family winery now concentrates on making the finest wines in Southern Oregon, specializing in Syrah, Viognier, Malbec, Cab Franc, Tempranillo, Grenache, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with the same passion and great care that has always been an important family tradition. We also support the agricultural heritage and modern day farms and artisan businesses that express the region's bounty and diversity.
The small, family-owned and operated production facility has a singular purpose to produce world-class, hand-crafted wines. Our production system is continuously updated and monitored to ensure the each vintage is the best it can be.
Old Meets New in the Rogue Valley Appellation
EdenVale Winery is located on some of the oldest agricultural property in the Rogue Valley. Now a signature wine and hospitality center, Eden Valley Orchards was founded in 1885 by Joseph H. Stewart, who is known as the father of the commercial pear industry in Oregon. The entire property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been a hallmark of agricultural innovation and graciousness since its pioneer beginnings in the Rogue River Valley, Southern Oregon.
The tradition continues—Eden Valley Orchards is a unique destination facility for wine lovers, history buffs, and a whole new generation of guests and visitors. Eden Valley Orchards is an example of the old and new in synergistic blend. Revitalizing pear-producing land to include vineyards and creating premium wine and cider production, the business is committed to sustainable agriculture, historic preservation, and agricultural education in the heart of Southern Oregon’s wine country. In 2016, new efforts to re-invigorate the property's heritage pear production to create the region's first hard pear cider was highly successful receiving several international medals on its first vintage.
EdenVale Winery at Eden Valley Orchards is emblematic of our past, with new 21st century leadership in premium wine and cider production, education and showcasing our region's agricultural history. Introduced in 2003 with its first 2001 vintage, the EdenVale wines reflect experience, innovation, artisanship and integrity of quality and taste.
EdenVale Winery—“We hope you enjoy our wines with the knowledge that we are establishing a style and flavor profile unique to our winery but distinctive because of the superb growing conditions in the Rogue Valley Appellation”.
EdenVale wines' first vintage was 2001. We are honored and excited to participate in the fast-growing Oregon wine industry. As Oregon becomes more renown for its flavorful and robust wines, our goal is to do our part in achieving greater recognition by creating top quality, enjoyable wines.
EdenVale has two tiers for our wine brand. Under our EdenVale label we have two blends - red and white- and two classic Oregon varietals -Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. These are small production, very well-made classic wines --- and our most popular for weddings, parties, reunions. They are handcrafted from select vineyards where each varietal is grown and cared for perfectly. These wines are available through our tasting room, select markets and restaurants.
Our premium-tier wines are under the EdenVale Reserve and Collector's Reserve labels. These wines are the more unique varietals that excel in Southern Oregon-- and again, selected as to location, clone and grower to gather the very best grapes. This collection is comprised of Tempranillo, Malbec, Grenache, Cab Franc, Syrah and Viognier. These wines are available through our tasting room, on-line and in fine restaurants.
In February of 2017, we released our first production of our estate-grown pear cider. The 2016 vintage cider is crisp, dry and 100% organic. Fresh pressed pears straight from our historic orchards planted in 1885, were used to make this very unique and refreshing cider. No additional fruit juices or concentrates -- only the original estate fruit.
EdenVale features Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Malbec, Grenache, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, still and dessert Viognier, red and white blends and dessert wines.
